The north bank is in the foreground (Newcastle) and in the background, the south bank is Gateshead.

That's the Gateshead Millenium bridge. The cables are the engineering beauty of this structure. Well done engineers, you have made this possible.

The Angel of the North welcomes visitors who come by road from the south. The iconic sculpture is the biggest in Britain. It is the largest angel structure in the world. It is as wide as Statue of Liberty is tall.
